One-step immunochromatographic test for the detection of putative infection with hypervirulent C.difficile strains in stool samples.
The existence of ribotype 027 and 017 strains justifies the need for increased hygiene measures and especially the isolation of such patients to limit the spread of the infecting organism.
OPERON's HYPERdiff chromatographic immunoassay provides a procedure for in vitro qualitative detection of such hypervirulent Clostridium difficile strains in human faeces. A positive reaction (generally associated with a particularly strong signal) identifies putative ribotype 027 and 017 C.difficile strains.
